Job Summary: Under the direction of the Safety Director and Assistant Safety Director, the Safety Manager is responsible for working with management and employees to ensure a safe and healthful work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Visualize, define, plan, communicate, and implement the company vision and core values.
- Provide training, oversee policies and procedures are followed and assist with conflict resolution for fleet safety, vehicle, accident, and injury investigations.
- Accountable for safety data reporting for accidents and injuries.
- Responsible for a monthly safety toolbox training and safety scorecard.
- Serve as a business partner to supervisors to compose safety letter following accidents and/or injuries.
- Function as company expert on all safety related issues including workers compensation claims management, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, and Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations.
- Understand and ensure OSHA, Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP) standards and company safety policies are followed.
- Responsible for origination, development, and delivery of all safety and job-site affirmative action training.
- Responsible for all plant, job, and equipment inspections.
- Manage company safety incentive and recognition programs.
- Visit project sites, in the field, and walk through to ensure policies are followed.
- Attend meetings reporting on the job safety issues.
- Review, understand, and adhere to all union contracts.
- Maintain insurable driving record.
- Oversee compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.

Education and/or Experience:
- Blue Card Safety Induction in the Mining Industry – MUST HAVE
- Bachelor of Science degree in related discipline.
- Minimum five years’ experience in the safety field.
- Safety training experience highly preferred.

- Detailed knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations.
