Job Summary

The Equipment Dispatcher coordinates, schedules, and tracks WW Clyde construction equipment, and support assets to and from jobsites. Working closely with the Equipment Dispatch Manager, shop supervisors, project teams, and vendors, you’ll maximize utilization, verify readiness, and keep projects running safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule & Dispatch: Assign and dispatch heavy equipment, transport, and small tools to meet project needs and timelines.
  • Rental Fleet Management: Manage and organize rental fleet equipment and build vendor relationships.
  • Track Assets: Maintain real-time equipment locations and status in dispatch/telematics systems; update moves and returns.
  • Jobsite Coordination: Communicate with superintendents/PMs to align delivery windows, access routes, and staging plans; adjust to changes.
  • Staging Yards: Support organization and flow in yards; assist with layout improvements and standardized processes.
  • Driver Management: Manage and support transport drivers and additional truck/trailer fleets.
  • Small Tools Management: Track availability and accountability; help standardize tool types/specs and reduce loss.
  • Safety & Security: Promote safe loading/securement practices; help ensure equipment and yards are secured.
  • Other Duties: Assist the Equipment team as needed; maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 3+ years in construction, equipment, trucking/logistics, or fleet coordination preferred.
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of heavy construction equipment, hauling, and shop/PM workflows.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organization and attention to detail in a fast-paced, change-heavy environment.
    • Clear, professional communication with field and office teams.
    • Ability to prioritize competing requests and solve problems proactively.
    • Comfortable learning dispatch/fleet software; proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Other: Team-oriented attitude; ability to travel locally between company locations and vendor sites.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Mix of office, yard, shop, and jobsite environments; exposure to weather and active construction zones (PPE required).
  • Frequent walking on uneven terrain; climbing on/off equipment as needed for verification.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs periodically.
  • Periods of seated computer/phone work to coordinate dispatch activities.
