WW Clyde is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Super Tandem Driver to join our team. In this role, you will transport asphalt, rock, and other materials to and from our heavy civil construction sites, operating equipment capable of hauling up to 100,000 lbs combined vehicle weight. You’ll navigate both on-road and off-road conditions, maintain compliance with safety regulations, and ensure timely deliveries to keep our projects running smoothly.

Responsibilities
- Safely haul and deliver asphalt, rock, and other materials to and from job sites.
- Operate Super Tandem trucks with a combined vehicle weight of up to 100,000 lbs in both on-road and off-road conditions.
- Coordinate with loader operators to ensure proper load distribution for stability and compliance with legal weight limits.
- Monitor weight compliance using on-board scales or scale tickets to prevent overweight violations.
- Maintain accurate truck logs in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Access and maneuver through off-road construction environments, including steep grades, tight spaces, and unpaved haul roads.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment safety and operational readiness.
- Secure and document delivery tickets with client signatures.
- Manage trailer articulation and tracking when reversing or navigating tight turns.
- Communicate via two-way radio with site personnel for load/drop instructions and traffic flow coordination.
- Assist with minor truck maintenance, such as checking tire pressure, greasing components, or replacing light bulbs.
- Provide excellent customer service to crews and clients.
- Follow all traffic laws, company safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
- Meet productivity and quality standards in a time-sensitive environment.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL required (Class A CDL preferred).
- Must be 21 years of age or older in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and company vehicle insurance requirements.
- Clean driving record.
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating tandem trucks.
- Comfortable hauling up to 100,000 lbs combined vehicle weight.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission.
- Physically able to sit for extended periods, bend, and work in outdoor conditions including heat.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
- Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
