Job Summary: The crusher operator is primarily responsible to operate various types of assigned crushers in a safe and efficient manner to complete the task assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Operate various types of crushers, adjusting setting, and monitoring performance to achieve desired material size and output.
  • Loading materials into the crusher, ensuring proper feeding, and transporting materials with the plant.
  • Perform routine maintenance on crushing equipment, identifying and addressing malfunctions, and ensuring equipment is in compliance and in safe working order.
  • Monitor the quality of crushed materials, ensuring they meet specifications, and performing quality checks.             
  • Maintain records of production, maintenance, and safety inspections.
  • Identifying and resolving operation issues – working with site superintendent often.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • May frequently be required to walk over uneven ground. 
  • May frequently be required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for long periods of time. 
  • Needs to be able to communicate well to receive and follow instructions, and understand safety requirements. 
  • Must frequently be able to lift and/or carry 0 – 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.  May occasionally lift items over their head. 
  • May frequently be required to climb up and down equipment via steps and/or short vertical ladders.

Individual Development (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):  

  • 5 years of experience – a must
  • Attention and commitment to safety 
  • Ability to follow instructions 
  • Ability to work long hours 
  • Ability to move at least 50 pounds

Training and Development:  

  • MSHA training and certification
  • Equipment Specific Operation and Safety Training 
  • Develop knowledge of heavy equipment safety
