Under the direction of the Safety Director, the Safety Manager works closely with management and employees to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. You will be responsible for training, policy enforcement, incident reporting, and overseeing safety practices across our operations.
Visualize, define, plan, communicate, and implement WW Clyde’s vision and core values.
Provide training, monitor safety policies and procedures, and assist with conflict resolution for fleet safety, vehicle incidents, accidents, and injury investigations.
Account for safety data reporting for accidents and injuries.
Lead monthly safety toolbox training and maintain the safety scorecard.
Serve as a business partner to supervisors by drafting safety letters following accidents or injuries.
Act as the company expert on safety issues, including workers’ compensation claims, OSHA standards, and MSHA regulations.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, UDOT, OCIP standards, and all company safety policies.
Develop and deliver all safety and job-site affirmative action training.
Conduct plant, job, and equipment inspections to ensure safety compliance.
Manage the company’s safety incentive and recognition programs.
Visit project sites and perform field walkthroughs to verify that safety policies are being followed.
Attend safety meetings and report on job safety issues.
Review and adhere to union contracts related to safety standards.
Maintain an insurable driving record and oversee compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the safety field, with safety training experience highly preferred.
Possession of Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification is a plus.
Detailed knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations.
Proven ability to develop an understanding of company facilities and safety procedures.
