Title: Purchase Order Specialist 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Purchase Order Specialist to join our construction team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient processing of purchase orders while maintaining accuracy and financial accountability. The ideal candidate will have experience with purchase orders, invoicing, and financial processes, along with strong Excel skills and an analytical mindset. Experience in the construction industry is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and process purchase orders based on bid documents, construction contracts, and project requirements.
  • Work closely with the field and pre-construction teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness in the creation and approval of purchase orders.
  • Monitor and verify accuracy in the creation of purchase orders, ensuring consistency and compliance with bid items and contract terms.
  • Collaborate with procurement, finance, and project management teams to track and manage purchase order status.
  • Analyze purchase order data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all purchase orders and related financial transactions.
  • Assist in resolving any discrepancies related to purchase orders, invoices, or vendor payments.
  • Utilize Excel and other financial tools to generate reports and support decision-making.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with purchase order creation, invoicing, and financial processing.
  • Intermediate Excel skills (e.g., formulas, data validation, VLOOKUP, sorting and filtering).
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Prior experience in the construction industry is a plus.
