Overview

POSITION: Sr. Project Manager / Project Sponsor - Large Projects Heavy Civil - Salt Lake City, UT  

LOCATION: Current project - Salt Lake City, UT  

JOB SUMMARY: Plan, develop, coordinate, and manage onsite construction engineering activities for large, extensive DOT projects ($100+ million contracts) 


RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  • Interface with others to resolve problems, ensure quality of construction, etc. in support of overall project schedule. 
  • Plan, organize and staff key field positions through regional department heads.  
  • Own overview and tracking of budgets and adjusted job costing. Prepare and organize monthly project cost reporting to review with Area and Division Manager. 
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of the project management guide.  
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with customer, joint-venture partners, subcontractors and others whom the company may facilitate construction activities. 
  • Represent company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc. 
  • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-stie Superintendents to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.  
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements. 
  • Complete other assignments as assigned by your direct supervisor. 



QUALIFICATIONS:
 

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 
  • 10+ years of Heavy Civil Large Project Experience is preferred. 
  • Must have a working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings & specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to discipline. 
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills essential. 
  • Skilled in assuming responsibility and reaching deadlines. 
  • Strong grasp of technology and construction software's. 
  • 7+years of Large Construction Project Management experience preferred.  
  • Must be willing and able to travel.
